Trying to install Satisfactory Alpha [Closed] and I get to select directory and if I want to create a shortcut. Then when the installation is about to beging. There’s a blue bar appearing under the game where it says “Preparing”. The bar fills up to between 10-50% and then gets stuck and the entire launcher freezes. I have to kill the application and if I try again I get the same result.

I was also in the closed alpha and had the same issue today after not logging in for a long time. But for me the screen just froze on launcher-launch permanently. So apparently coffeestain wanted to clean up their library and have removed the alpha and test weekend from the the epic games library, meaning these versions are not playable anymore. But because the local files are still on the computer the wonderful epic games launcher has a spasm and just freezes permanently. For you this probably means you have to buy the full game if you want to play satisfactory again.
solution that worked for me: manually delete the local directory of the alpha at your install directory, normally C:\Program Files\Epic Games\SatisfactoryTestWeekend
