Will Unreal Engine make the video public-facing for their Epic MegaGrants submission?

Hello All,

I have a question involving Epic MegaGrants. In the submission process, it is recommended to have a trailer and the demo for the game.

For the trailer, I was wondering if we can just send out a private video to the people reviewing the trailer and not make it public-facing for the audience, at least immediately for the review and after potential acceptance until the company decides they want to make it public.

Thank you in advance!

Well, let me clarify. I know I can “technically” submit a video that is unlisted. I wanted to know - I’m guessing only the Epic staff would really know about this…- if they required their submitters to submit a public-facing one and if not, that I can guarantee that I won’t have to make it a public-facing video upon submission.

Sure you can send a Video that is not listed or something. You will hear back from Epic within 90 days and if there are any concerns you can talk to them.

I doubt that they would need a public-facing Video or require you to make it public after submission. Since nothing of that is stated on the submission form or in the FAQ.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your questions!

You are welcome to share an unlisted or private video that’s password enabled, just make sure to include it in your application. We recommend uploading and sharing your video through streaming platforms such as Youtube or Vimeo.

Any project related information or details listed in your application remain confidential. If selected for a MegaGrant, we will not make any public announcements without your permission.

Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding MegaGrants.

Thanks!

Amanda
