Assert crash when starting Editor 4.22.3 and 4.23.0 Preview 4

Hey all,

I’ve just recently done a fresh sync to Preview 4.23.0 (Preview 4) and 4.22.3 and I’m consistently getting this crash:

Assertion failed: Module [File:D:/Build/++UE4/Sync/Engine/Source/Runtime/Core/Private/Modules/ModuleManager.cpp] [Line: 376] MeshUtilities

I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled and cleaned out folders during in between.
This is also a Vanilla install - there are no plugins installed at all.

Any advice would be welcome as the editor is dead in the water for me right now.

Hey all,

So the issue looked to be a corrupt installation of the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013.

Snagged them from here: Download Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 from Official Microsoft Download Center
repaired the install and was off to the races again.

I’m getting the same crash I think. Just to clarify, are you using Visual Studio 2013 or does this fix apply to more current versions of VS as well?

It’d be worth giving a try?

I honestly am not sure if it would help out in VS 2013. In my instance, I was working with VS 2017.

Thanks for clarifying. I am also using VS 2017.
