[Request]:Asset browser show/don't show sub-folders toggle

Asset browser could have a button/icon to toggle between “showing content of subfolders” and “not-showing content of subfolders” (toggling the editor setting for subfolders). Both modes are useful so a quick way to toggle between them would be nice.

Something for consideration - for new users, wouldn’t it be better if by default content browser wouldn’t show content of subfolders? I don’t think I have seen this kind of behaviour in other softwares, so potentially it could be confusing even more now that there is a file per asset.

Hi Tomas,

Are you describing a function like the show/hide asset tree button, only for the assets themselves? I am working on a feature request for this, but I would like some clarification.

Thanks,

Alexander

I meant to have a toggle button in the Content Browser, for example next to “Show or hide the sources panel” button, which would toggle the setting to show content of the of the subfolders if their parent folder is selected.

Hi Tomas,

I see what you are saying now. I really like this mock-up and so I have submitted it into my report for this feature request. If there is anything else that would make using the editor easier for you, please let us know.

Thank you,

Alexander

Any updates on this? This would have been so useful to have, everytime I do a filter such as “Static mesh” it also gives me all the subdirectories which is not what I want
