Why is it not possible to raise reflection sphere resolution?

I was just wondering why it is not possible to increase the resolution of reflection spheres/cubes?

On a similar post the answer said it was due to ‘DX11 hardware limitations.’
But I have a GTX780 and many other people have high powered graphics as well!

And even if it does send the frame rate to absolute s**t it would still be nice to have the option. :slight_smile:

So are there any changes to this unnecessary problem planned?

There aren’t any hardware limitations around the resolution, it’s just a memory thing. We want to support configuring the resolution in the future, but haven’t gotten to it yet.

Is it possible to change this somewhere in the code?
I wouldn’t mind recompiling to get higher quality cube maps.

I’m really disappointed about this. If I have a window and it’s dark outside you can immediately see the low resolution.
How hard can it be to put the resolution option in the parameters?
