Quick launch doesn’t show latest version. It says Unreal engine Subscription and I get locked out of new projects. I can open old projects fine. Sometimes everything goes back to normal but it’s been stuck like this for a few days now.
How do I fix this?

Thank you for reporting this issue. I am actually currently seeing this error with my launcher as well. I have gone ahead and informed our team that this is occurring and it may be looked into.
Here is a link to possible solutions on to how to fix the issue. If you are still able to see that errors, Could you provide the VeryVerbose logs here? Information on how to find those logs can be found at the bottom of that link.

On step six I never got the error message. Also Everything seems to be working fine once I made it to step six. I still put the log here. Is there something I should do to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future?

Glad it is working for you now. I believe this was an issue on our end. The Epic configuration responsible for the issue was kindly asked to calm down and take a chill pill.
