Epic launcher is crashing on startup

Launcher is crashing shortly after being loaded, it only started after recent update. Here’s error log, any workaround for the time being?

I’ve tried troubleshooting tips and reinstalling launcher, but to no effect.

UPDATE 27.07.2015: I’ve localized the problem on my end, it’s Lavasoft .dll file in the system32 folder. Thing is i can’t unregister it, since it’s not registered and it’s loaded nonetheless. I’ve tried deleting it as admin and in safe mod< but nothing helped. I’ll try some anti-virus software now.

Hi KTyJLXy,

First try the suggestion by Steve.White in this post.

If that doesn’t work for you, follow the instructions here to get your Debug Logs. Then post them here, along with your Dxdiag (system specs).

TY for the respond. I’ve read the thread aaaand i’ve recently deleted mentioned above LavaSoft program ‘Web Companion’, but it didn’t helped much. According to timestamps it got installed (don’t even know how it got installed) in the same time all the crashing started. Since deleting it didn’t helped, can you advice something for the workaround?

So here’s my dxdiag link text and debug log (it’s about 6 mb so i’ve uploaded it on the fileshare)

I’ve erased the LavaSoft.dll and launcher is working fine now, so i’ll mark this as resolved. I’ve deleted mentioned .dll by connecting system hdd to another pc and did a system restore after.

same problem with me. but i got LavasoftTcpService64.dll not LavaSoft.dll !!!

Just look up the the creation date on the LavasoftTcpService64.dll and use a system restore point before that date. Should work.

i dont have any restore point prior to that date

You have 3 options then:

  1. Well, you always can do system
refresh, it would help. And it will
    uninstall other programs in the
    process.
  2. Use some programs like
“unlocker” to unlock that .dll and
    delete it. `
  3. `Plug in the hard drive to
other PC and erase file from there.

i solved it.altough i uninstalled web camanion but LavasoftTcpService64.dll stilll was in my system32 folder. the problem was rising bcz i was trying to delete it. not it’s registry entries. after cleaning up registry by tune up everything started to work well again.
