Could not create directory (Repairing Engine)

Hi, I used this (Moving Engine and Project folders to another drive - Getting Started & Setup - Unreal Engine Forums) step-by-step instruction guide to move everything from my C drive to my D drive because my C drive was full, everything worked perfectly until the last step where it says to click Repair. Instead of repairing it, it says

"Unable to install

Could not create directory: C:/Program Files/Epic Games/4.8"

Can anyone help me repair it please?

Hi Mikester4411,

We don’t recommend moving the engine once it is installed. The best practice is to uninstall and reinstall the engine onto the new drive, then move your project folder.

With that said, I suggest posting on the report that you listed above and see if Jefreestyles may know a workaround. Or take a look at this forum post to see if their method will help you find a workaround.

Cheers,

TJ

Thank you for the reply, I tried the forum you linked, but I don’t have the Manifests folder so that won’t work. I’ll ask Jefreestyles and see what he says  I would uninstall and reinstall it, but that would mean waiting for it to download again, wouldn’t it? Because my internet is terrible and that would take all night, so that’s my last resort :stuck_out_tongue:
