Why the lighting build progress stuck at 98% with 4.3 preview?

Hi -

Thank you for your report. I will begin investigation into this issue as soon as possible. In order to begin looking into this issue, I need to collect a little bit more information. Does the light build stick on all maps including an unmodified generic/sample map? If you open another project in 4.2.1 do you still have issues building lights? Does the light build ever fail completely or just seems to continually run with no warning? Can you post the log from your swarm agent? (just open the Swarm agent icon in the windows taskbar and copy what the log tab is displaying into a test document and attach here.)

In the meantime, please be sure to review our suggestions for how to report a bug, and feel free to edit your post if you have additional information to provide:

Thank you.

When i create a new empty level in 4.3 preview and build lighting ,it can reach 100% progress but then my computer crashes and the ram reaches 99%…I do not have any lighting build issues on 4.2.1.But when I build lighting with my project in 4.3 preview it just seems to continually run with no warning and displays the 98% progress and the number does not change any more. Here is the swarm log file. Thanks

Hi -

When you create the new empty level, what is the template you are building off of, blank project, blank code based, FPS Blueprint, FPS Code etc?

Thank You

Eric Ketchum

I tried all template, and all of them made my computer crash except the project i created in the 4.2 ,it just stops at 98% Thanks!

Ps After i wait for some time, my computer revovers but the RAM reaches 2.268g and it never goes back to the origin.

Hi -

I am not able to reproduce this issue in house. Can you upload any crash logs that are generated? The locations for which can be found in this post, How do I report a bug? - Programming & Scripting - Epic Developer Community Forums

Thanks I create a new level and rebuild lighting,it now can reach 100%.However,there is another issue, after reaching 100%,it will export built static lighting, then my computer will be freezing for a long time and i find that the RAM has reached 98%(A total of 4GB). It never happens in the 4.2 or earlier. Is it a bug? Thanks!

Hi -

Can you upload your DXDiag for the computer that is causing these issues for you?

Thank You

Eric Ketchum

Thanks!Here is the dxdiag.link text

Hi -

With 4.3 still in preview it is hard to say that this is a firm bug but thank you for finding this and we are keeping our eye out for it. However, after looking at your DXDiag’s your PC is just barely at the recommended specs in processor and RAM with an integrated video card, I do believe that you are honestly running out of memory. Remember Windows 8 requires 2GB of RAM and we recommend 8 GB for Unreal. It could just be the complexity of your level itself which is causing the hang by trying to use more memory than the CPU can allocate.

Thank You

Thank you!I may need to upgrade my ram.
