Mesh particle showing wireframe bug

I just started using 4.3 and I notice that my mesh particle keeps showing only the wireframe. This happens most notably when I hit real time, and then go into immersive mode. It is also evident in the hi res screenshots. Is this a bug, or is this something that I need to hit a switch on since the update? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is having a very noticeable impact on the visual of the effect. Thanks in advanced.

Can you upload a screenshot of your particle working in Cascade and the material setup you are using for your particle system?

Thank You

Eric Ketchum

Hey Eric,

Thanks for the quick response. Here’s a screenshot of the particle in cascade. I reproduced the effect again in the editor by hitting real time and going into immersive mode, but the bug wasn’t evident in the cascade window.

The material is simply a constant 3 parameter multiplied by a constant 1 for brightness and plugged into the emissive slot.

I tried reproducing the effect in the build I was using before updating to 4.3, which was 4.1 and the bug wasn’t there.

The 4.3 I’m using was downloaded via the launcher. If I can think of anything else I’ll let you know. Thanks.

Hey SE_JonF -

I am starting to try to reproduce this, but I wanted to check about how you upgraded the effect. Did you do a convert in place from 4.1 to 4.3 or did you recreate the effect from scratch in 4.3?

Thank You

Eric Ketchum

Hey Eric,

I did not recreate the effect from scratch in 4.3, I just converted. Thanks.

Hey SE_JonF -

If you build lighting are you able to “fix,” at least temporarily, the issue and have you ever seen this error in the game itself or just in the editor.

This is a reproducible bug and I will keep you up to date as we work toward a solution.

Thank You

Eric Ketchum

I will test this as soon as I get home tonight. Hopefully this fixes it, I will also let you know if I’m seeing this in game in addition to the editor. Thanks a lot for following up on this issue!

Seems to be fixed for now from building, in editor and game. Thanks again for the help.
