Assuming that the answer to the above question is yes, then you are probably trying to change the settings via the Attribute Editor itself which will only show you settings for one element at a time, usually the last chosen. However you can set multiple chains lag settings at the same time if you use the Attribute Spread Sheet, Select Window > General Settings > Attribute Spread Sheet then in the List View of your Animation Controls of the ART chose the First FK Control of each chain. You should end up with something like the following image:
Correct, I’m trying to edit the attributes of multiple chains at once via the Channel Box (not the attr spreadsheet if possible).
I did a test with some basic new attributes set on locators, and setting those attr’s at once from the channel box works fine. I’m not sure why that is with this rig in particular and these particular attributes too. I have the same problem though with other custom attributes, like “global_scale”.
Thanks for your reply. I understand this is an option but it’s not optimal. Usually multiple objects can be edited from the Channel Box, but for some reason not these attributes. I haven’t seen this happen before with other, non-ART rigs either.
Thanks for taking a look! Weird. I tried on a clean Maya 2014 and Maya 2014 SP4 with the same result.
I think I’ve isolated the issue to attributes that are Published. Seems like a Maya bug. Not sure how yours is working. Maybe a channel box setting somewhere…
Here are a couple gifs. I tried basically the same as you did. I used two lag attributes on chain nodes (these are Published) and then on two wrist controls (unpublished, works ok setting multi-attributes).
And to isolate the issue, I created a couple of test spheres, used them to create Assets, and then Published an identically named attribute on both. This basically reproduces the same problem on the rig.
Not sure what might be different here. Maybe selection settings. To the Maya helpdesk I go…
