I was wanting to build a history game based off the middle ages and wanted to use Coat of arms and real names ect…
But can I do that or do I need premission from the countries and or familys?

I would recommend you to post this into the forum, because I think it will probably need some discussion 
Just add it into the general discussion forum But here are some more information: “the default length of copyright is the life of the author plus either 50 or 70 years”. So in my opinion you can use the names, but the coat of arms are probably still used by their families (e.g my family also has one) → so they are probably under copyright
