Hey guys!
So ive been using UT engine for the passed 3 days and messing about testing out stuff knowing i could just recover all my settings on the fly, im quite far into my project. but wanted to follow a tutorial on how lighting exactly works.
I try to open a new project it crashes.
The launcher crashes at about 39% and
i picked this out of the log:
LogMaterial: Missing
cached shader map
for material WorldGridMaterial,
compiling. Is special engine material.
So ive done some thinking, and all i could think off is that i corrupted the main material inside the main UT folder.
I remember double clicking on a texture to test things out, remove ALL of the basic texture nodes to start a new texture on. little did i know i was adjusting the world grid material (if i am even thinking of the correct material)
So why i think this is the thing killing my engine, is because in my MAIN project which i am working on works! it just boots up without a problem.
The spoof on the other hand, my world grid material is a shiny wood there. the one i messed around with.
Also on a sidenote, in the log it also shows it trying to load up all my assets im using in my main project. I dont see a reason why it would try to do that.
EG:
[2018.09.14-10.22.11:166][
0]LogLinker:Warning: Can’t find file
for asset
‘/Game/CustomMaps/UGC1510418886/Building_pieces/Textures/Wood_plancks_003_NRM’ while loading
…/…/…/Engine/Content/EngineMaterials/WorldGridMaterial.uasset.
This makes me think im on the right track.
So i’m not sure how to get myself out of this situation. since i think every time i will load a new project. it will crash. if i fix the issue so i can make a new project, my main project might get corrupted?
Please help me out, i’ve been addicted to the engine for a few days now haha, hate to see it go.
