Editor crashes on launch on Mac with USB device

Processor 2,7 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB

Software OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)

Editor version: 4.0.1

Editor crashes without any warnings.

I can launch editor successfully only if I load it with Tappy Bird.

Other stuff lead to inevitable crash immediately after loading of editor’s main window.

Default launch crashes after loading of the ‘Unreal Project Browser’ dialog window. (UPD: it loaded successfully only once, pure luck: there was not even one special condition for it to not crash that time)

Sorry for my English

Hey Arslan,

Can you attach log from one of these crashes? It can be found in your project’s folder under Saved\Logs. Thanks!

I found out that it crashes randomly.

I’m attaching two logs. One from crashed launch, one from successful.

Hey Arslan,

It looks like this is same USB crash seen here:

Try downloading that QFE and see if that works.

Hope that helps!

Yeah. I’ve unplugged tablet and now editor is launching normally.

I have a similar experience with a Logitech mouse. With USB wireless dongle attached, editor crashes at launch. Unplugging it and editor works.

Hey darthvosper,

If you check answer linked above, you’ll see a QFE that you can download to bypass USB problem. download link is:

  • Thanks! QFE cleared problem. Back to work!
