Hi, im having large issues with lag down to what seems like 1 frames per second, the mouse and (everything really) actions done on the computer lags alot. This only happens when the actual Engine (Editor) is open, the launcher does not cause this, its when the engine is open with any project. (Even with blank projects) The lag is so intense that no work can be done on either the engine or the computer in general, that is untill i close the engine. Please help me as this is disallowing me to work on my projects. Specs below:
Windows 8 Enterprise 64-bit
Intel Core i7-2600 3.40GHz
16384MB Ram
DirectX 11
Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 (4GB Ram)
EDIT: The problem was solved with a graphics card update!
I have a similar rig but I haven’t downloaded ue4 yet. So I’m a little concern about its behaviour.
Can you tell us the fps for a sample project or a little more info on the overall behaviour after the driver update?
I tried different sample projects, ContentExamples, Reflections Sample, ShooterGame Sample and StrategyGame Sample all of them run at a steady 58-60 fps overall. The Engine runs pretty smooth without hickups.
Nice! Plus we’ll continue to optimize the engine even further! With UE3 we added tons of amazing features and optimizations over the years! We’re just getting started with UE4! Thanks for coming along for the ride, it will be a great one!
Depending on your GPU it might run, i would however recommend running it on a desktop as the Engine is very GPU dependent, so having a good GPU will make a big difference.
It runs just fine on my MacBook Pro (under MacOS X Mavericks) and really flies on my Razer Blade (under Windows 8.1). Both have decent Nvidia GPUs. If you’re using buying a laptop aimed at gamers you should be just fine.
I have same problem - everything was OK till I upgrade UE to version 4.2. No it’s lag like hell. I have GeForce GT650M and I using laptop Alienware MX14.
I update drivers but still same problem and also check if I using high-performance and not second intel graphic card. I using win 7 64bit.
