I can’t find a way to manually change the order/herarchy of actors in a sequence. It was possible with Matinee back in the days, but I can"t find a way here, except using alphabetical order and/or folders, which is not very useful in some cases.
The ability to customize the order of tracks in sequencer is on our feature list. I’m hoping we can get to it in the next few releases.
For now, you can also try using the label system - right click on the track and set a label (for examples ‘aaa’). Then in the type in field next to the +Track button, you can type: “label: aaa” to show only those tracks that you’ve set with that label. I know this is definitely not the same as reordering tracks, but maybe that will help you along the way until we can get that feature in.
Hey, is there any way to prevent Sequencer from reordering the folders automatically?
VERY ANNOYING.
I’ll have a folder of tracks I’m no longer using, and will put them at the bottom in a folder, but if I add new tracks, or hit “Control + Z”, then the folders will be reordered.
Is this happening in the latest 5.3 release? I noticed a bug with nodes getting autosorted on undo. That’s been fixed now but for the next 5.4 release.
I noticed that the auto sorting was happening recently on undo in 5.3 for one particular case. So I filed a bug and fixed it for the next release version (5.4). The details on that bug and repro steps will be available soon here: Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-194938)
However, the repro steps might be different from what you have encountered, so it’s always good to provide your specific steps if possible. Thanks.
