Line Trace is not hitting my Alembic Geometry Cache

So I imported an ocean plane as an alembic file (geometry cache) and it works perfectly fine. However when i try to get a line trace to hit the surface ( i wanna make a barrel float) i dont get a hit but instead my trace just goes right through.

Anyone got any ideas?

Does the water plane block the visibility channel?

how can i check that? i’m not quiet sure what you mean

Click on it and look for the collision section in the details. You can set it to custom and expand the section with a small down arrow to see the channels.

yeah i can and i also set it so it blocks everything

Does the plane have a collision box? Sometimes imported meshes have no collision at all and you have to generate one in the UE.

When i double click the Asset to open the editor its just some weird interface where i cant change anything… i cant even see the Asset itself

Unreal alembic does not support collision.
