Howdy all
I seem to have disabled refraction on accident in my project at some point. Trouble is now I cant seem to find where I did that.
I was just wondering if anyone knows where the various places I could have disable refraction are?
Side note, even when I create a new map refraction still does not work. I’m using the “M_StatueGlass” material that comes with the StartContent.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Especially since I know it was my own lunk headed fault
Did you perhaps change the material domain to something that is not translucent? Could you post a screenshot of your material settings? Have you tried migrating the material to a fresh project and see if it works there?
Just tried migrating the material to a different project and it appears to work dandy in another project. Here are the pictures

Does this mean I need to migrate my whole current game? Hopefully there is just a setting somewhere I am missing.
It doesn’t look like you have a skysphere in the “not working map”. Try add one? Refraction is an effect caused by light, so light affects the material
Thank you so much for the suggestion.
But alas I tried it as well as adding a bunch of lights and refraction is still not working.
If anything else comes to mind do let me know.
Thank you so much for responding all the same
Did you change to the forward renderer by any chance? It looks like a VR project so would make sense if you did
Ahhh haaaa! Foward Renderer! Thank you so very much. I did not realize that Foward Rendering kills Refraction. That was it. Thank you again so very much for helping me find the problem
