No matter what I do I can’t seem to get custom icons to be used in packaged games. Are there requirements to icons that can be used? I’m using the icon extension plugin in Photoshop.
Hi Yaw-Way,
Make sure it’s saved as a .ico file and try and make it 256x256 in size. Hope that helps!

Can you yourself package a game and see if it works? I’m not seeing anyone else have this problem and want to confirm that it is just me. If you could please package just a small sample game and assign a custom icon just to see if it worked. Splash screens work for me, but not movies nor icons. I need that customizability.
I cant get this to work too , only splash screen , which is toooo fast for anyone too see… but maybe this is from the pc spec?
I know this is old but I thought I’d post here rather than make a new question.
I’m using a content only project and intro videos and custom icons also don’t work for me.
I as well know this is old but I cannot get the desktop icon to not be a UE4 logo. How does anybody fix this?
Icons, for Windows seem to be broken, for Android they work fine, but you have to create 5 of them… this should not be this hard for windows…
I tried loading the UE4.ico (Default) file and pasting my image on-top, and then saving it out again (As a different file), and that seemed to work… We’ll see once I do a build, but it didn’t complain about the .ICO file anymore.
i’ve made a 256x256 .png, then moved into build/windows and renamed to Application.ico - it works for settings.
but it seems that it causes an error for packaging
In Gimp2 256x256 32bit .ico uncompressed seems to do the job.
i don’t think png and ico are compatible
