why is UE4 so laggy

OK so i got UE4 for the last few months, but it was laggy so i decided not to use it.
i decided to use it again, but its still lags, how can i fix it?
BTW i have a windows 7 computer

Sorry to hear that you are having issues. What type of video card do you have? How about memory, etc. General specs. Also, could you grab a dxdiag? Thanks!

for hardrives i have OS (c:). and a extra hardrive called seagate expansion. thats all i know, and no i dont have DXdiag

DxDiag is a hardware report tool, which you should be able to run by following these steps:

  1. Press the windows key on your keyboard and the R key at the same time
  2. in the Window that pops up, type in “dxdiag” and hit Enter
  3. At the bottom of the window that opens next (DirectX Diagnostic Tool), click the “Save All Information” button.
  4. That will create a file called dxdiag.txt that you can then upload here, so we can check the specifications of your computer :slight_smile:

Your PC might not be powerful enough. Try closing background programs, put graphics on lowest settings and disable realtime which you can uncheck by clicking on the top left arrow in your viewport.
